Any person who is a resident of Maine and a United States citizen and who will be eighteen years of age on or before Election Day may register to vote.

You may register in person by visiting the Carmel Town Office at 1 Safety Lane and by completing a voter registration card, or you may request a mail-in registration form from the town office, any United States Post Office or from the Secretary of States Election Division. You may also register when applying for or renewing your driver’s license at the department of Motor Vehicles.

When you register to vote thru the mail you will be asked to provide a valid proof of identification and residency before voting.
