Animal Control Officer is Kathy Ricker. She responds to approximately 15 calls for service per month regarding the care and control of wild and domestic animals within Town of Carmel. The service requests range from the capture and control of domestic animals such as horses, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats.

Emergency after-hours service is available for sick, injured and vicious stray animals. We enforce both state and local laws relating to animal control. Captured animals are boarded at Carson’s Animal Shelter in Orrington.

Remember by law your dogs and cats must be tagged with their rabies tag and be identifiable and that dog six (6) months old or older that you keep for more than ten days must be licensed. We are happy to assist you with all of your animal control questions or concerns.
